Yoshi Sodeoka + MYMK

Garlands is a 30-minute abstract video work created in collaboration with MYMK, developed alongside his full-length album of the same name. The project emerged through an ongoing dialogue between sound and image, with visuals generated through a custom-built video feedback system that responds directly to the audio, producing evolving forms and textures in real time. Color plays a central role in the work, carefully tuned to the emotional and tonal shifts of the music. The piece is intended to be experienced in its entirety, allowing its gradual transformations to fully unfold. Garlands has been presented internationally, including screenings at the Kinomural 2025 and the Laforet Museum in 2018, and has appeared in festivals worldwide. The work received the Grand Prize at the Punto y Raya Festival.
